VPLEX Specialist Practice Exam

In a VPLEX configuration, the UPS-A specifically powers the Management server and FC switch A. The Management server is crucial as it oversees the overall operations and management of the VPLEX, while FC switch A is essential for facilitating communication between the storage and the server infrastructure.

Powering the Management server ensures that critical functionalities such as monitoring, configuration, and system management are always available, even during power outages. FC switch A plays a vital role in maintaining the connectivity required for data flow and operations, making it imperative for the continuity of access to storage resources.

Other components in the system, while important, do not receive power directly from UPS-A under standard configurations. For instance, powering both FC switches or just one of them could cause disruptions in operational continuity. By focusing on the Management server and FC switch A specifically, UPS-A ensures that critical system management and storage access remain functional during power disruptions.
